Welcome!

Here is how the issue started:
I wanted to decrease the size of the D:\ Drive on my old PC, to have an unallocated space and create a new partition so that I can install Linux on that partition. After clicking on apply, it asked me to restart, and I did that. While it was doing its job, it reported an error which says that the mounting of the partition failed and press any key to reboot. After rebooting, I opened the My Computer folder and opened the properties of the D:\ Drive. I was surprised to see that its capacity is 15GB (It was 25GB before decreasing the size)!!! And the much worse than that is that the new partition which I requested it to create wasn't created!!!!! I opened up EaseUS Partition Master, and It said that D:\ Has a capacity of 25GB!!!

That PC is a bit old, but the problem that it isn't mine :D

Can you help me solve this problem?
Thanks :)

happened to me long time ago, with Esaeus too, in fact the partition was made but it is invisible and inaccessible to your system because it is not formated. i remember i solved it by using another partition software, and deleting "this free space partition". dont ask me which software i forgot, maybe acronis disk doctor , not sure. if you have the windows disc, you may use it too.

Have you tried Windows Management Console?

If you try that, (Start --> Right Click Computer --> Manage --> Disk Management)

In that Window, you can manage your partitions, HDD's, Dynamic and Basic Volumes, etc.

You could always try to delete all partitions and "Logical Drives" showing up on Windows Disk Management, so that it becomes just a basic RAW Unallocated Spaced Volume, and then create its "New Volume" again, try to do the re partition in good favor that it might work this time!

Good Luck!

Solved :) I had a bootable CD which has a partition manager in it. I used it to delete the D: partition and to create it again.
