Microsoft is launching Office 2021 on October 5th, and the company is finally detailing the features and pricing today. Office 2021 will be the next standalone version of Microsoft’s Office suite, designed for businesses and consumers who want to avoid the subscription version of Office.

Office Home and Student 2021 will be priced at $149.99 and include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams for PC and Mac. Office Home and Business 2021 is priced at $249.99 and will include everything in the Home version and Outlook for PC and Mac, alongside the rights to use all of the Office apps for business purposes.

Office 2021 will include the collaboration features found in Microsoft 365 versions of Office, with real-time co-authoring, OneDrive support, and even Microsoft Teams integration. Office 2021 will also include the new Office design that has a refreshed ribbon interface, rounded corners, and a neutral color palette that all matches the UI changes in Windows 11.

Microsoft is also adding in some Microsoft 365 features to Office 2021, including modern Excel features, PowerPoint improvements, better inking in Office apps, and Outlook translation support. Here are all the new Office 2021 features

The new version of Office may be a wise choice for those "upgrading" to Windows 11, as I believe (but may be wrong) that MS Office 2013 or below are not supported on Win11.

Exactly, way too expensive. SoftMaker Office Professional is better and cheaper IMO.

I can understand why there are certain things free software can't replace yet
But most people shouldn't have an issues with alternatives except different UI and Slightly less tuts

How to disable the Microsoft Office 2021 Start Screen​

When you load a Microsoft Office 2021 application, its Start Screen is displayed by default. The Start Screen displays available templates and the last documents you worked with while using the application. Office 2021 users who prefer to start in a blank file, e.g. a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, can disable the Start Screen in Microsoft Office 2021 for that.

The following tutorial helps you change the configuration of Office 2021 applications to bypass the Start Screen and load a blank document instead on start. Note that it appears to be necessary to make the change for each Microsoft Office application individually.

Disable the Start Screen in Microsoft Excel 2021​

Here is how you disable the Start Screen in Excel 2021:

1. Launch Excel on the device that you are using. The program should load the Start Screen.
2. Select the Options link, located in the lower left corner of the Excel window.
3. Make sure that the General tab is selected (it should be by default).
4. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and remove the checkmark from "Show the Start screen when this application starts".

Excel will load a blank spreadsheet file the next time you launch it (and all consecutive times). You may undo the change by checking the option again in the options.

The methodology is always the same. Launch the program that you want to change the option for, select the Options link on the Start Screen, scroll down the General tab of the options and uncheck the "Show the Start Screen when this application starts" box.

It works for all Office 2021 applications that launch the Start Screen when you open them on the Windows machine.
