Phrozensoft Anti-Bot 3.0 has been completely recoded from the ground up. The program is now elegantly and purposefully coded to be more user friendly, more powerful and with more, much more options. Phrozensoft Anti-Bot is fully multithreaded and using the last graphical API’s for latest Microsoft Windows Version.
Phrozensoft Anti-Bot 3.0 will now automatically and silently update your host file, using data provided by the well-known antimalware site www.abuse.ch. This data consists of blocklists that are able to stop your computer from contacting all ip’s and domains which are currently used as Command&Control server (C&C) by the ZeuS crimeware, the SpyEye crimeware and the Palevo crimeware. You can now even create your own rules to block websites which may be a useful feature to stop your children from reaching certain undesirable websites. To stop other users unblock these websites, the settings of Prozensoft Anti-Bot can be secured with a password.
Prozensoft Anti-Bot is using a probe system that will listen to blacklisted websites that are blocked by the program. Eventually Prozensoft Anti-Bot will be equipped with a system of notification.
Prozensoft Anti-Bot is very easy on the recourses of your computer and does use only a very limited amount of memory. That all implies that the program is very nimble.
Prozensoft Anti-Bot is – and will forever be – totally free.

To add information to the hosts file install Anti-Bot on your system, run it with administrative privileges – and not after installation using the check box – and click on the update button to download the latest site list and update the hosts file with it.

Note: Security software may block Anti-Bot from adding the information to the hosts file. This is for instance the case when you run Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 on your system which blocks any attempt of the program to manipulate the hosts file. The only option here is to disable Bitdefender’s protection for the time being, run the program, update the hosts file, and enable the protection again once the process has been completed.

You can check if the hosts file has been edited by opening C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in a plain text editor such as Notepad. All domains are redirected to 127.0.0.1.

You can exit the program afterwards as it is only needed to update the hosts file. You may want to run it regularly though to work with the latest data set.

If your resident anti-malware solution does not block bot-related websites then you may want to use the program to add protection to it using your system’s hosts file and the abuse.ch block list. While it won’t keep everything out, it includes many popular attack domains.

So basically all it does is add bad websites to your host file?

I use HostsMan with MVPS host blocklist which supports silent auto updating host file blocklists. So does this have any benefits over HostsMan?

Thanks.:D

if MVPS also lists botnets, this addon has no benefits over Hostman or HostsXpert, they have more options. Personally i import 3rd party hosts files in EAM, so i dont need to touch mine.

This is not as good as Hostsman this is basically for somebody who isnt using anything,it is at least something to begin with.It is in no way 100%, it does block most of the main sites that spread malware. It surely isnt going to keep everything out
