You should check your OS build to verify you're running the lastest version available. I'd recommend complementing Windows Defender built-in antivirus with Comodo Firewall in order to have more control over the system (HIPS, SandBox, inbound/outbound connections). Good on-demand scanners are Zemana AntiMalware, Norton Power Eraser, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, for example.

Here are some suggetions:
- Add Zemana as a on demand scanner.
- Add some behaviour based protection, such as Comodo Firewall or Voodooshield, both free options.
- Use Macrium Reflect for automatic system image backups.
- Make sure to add hpHosts filters (at least emd, psh) to uBlock Origin for further web detection.
- Please install all security updates at least.

System Mechanic is like Tune Up:
1. It costs a lot.
2. It makes more problems than it solves.
I can't imagine that you're using Altavista. I don't get it that someone uses it for real... Why?

Your system looks that it contains ad-ware. Please check it or ask for help in this forum!

I would consider a good free system backup solution such as Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper.
Consider backing up data to a external drive also.
I would also consider adding a free AV or consider migrating to Windows 10.
Thanks for sharing your config :)
