The Mozilla Labs developers first announced F1 in November 2010. The add-on is designed to help users share links across a variety of social networks and services.
Mozilla Labs has announced that it has released an update to its F1 link-sharing add-on for Firefox. The update has a new UI, more service specific features and supports a greater variety of services.
With the new UI, the horizontal layout of the previous version has now been changed to a vertical layout; this allows the addition of more service specific functions and keeps text to a more readable line length. Twitter and Facebook capabilities have been expanded – direct messages can be sent to Twitter followers and on Facebook there is direct sharing to a group wall. LinkedIn! sharing is now supported and there is an improved template for GMail.
