MSVCR100.DLL is missing...

ok, when I boot up there is this message telling me MSVCR100.DLL is missing, it also alerts me when I try to run certain programs....
1/ what is it
2/ why is it suddenly missing
3/ how do I re install it... thanks..

You need to install Microsoft Visual C++ .

Visual 2010 runtime to be exact. I actually made a self extracting file that has all versions (x86 and x64) with every year.

32Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center

64Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) from Official Microsoft Download Center

You'll probably only need the 32bit but mind as well get both. Just a personal recommendation.

RESULT.... it seems I needed the x64 version..
