Let's get down to the point. I am sick and tired of the endless issues I have been experiencing with Windows 10 on my HP Notebook 250 G7 (Desktop icon cache keeps getting corrupted for no obvious reason, update issues and driver issues). I felt helpless  (exaggerating here 😂), so I decided to give Linux Mint a go (had that poor Linux Mint 19 Tara laying on my desk). I have chosen to completely to replace Windows 10 with Linux Mint, so I disabled secure boot. The installation was smooth (was offered to install 3rd party drivers and blah blah and I accepted). I was connected to a wire connection. After I finished installing Linux Mint, I was shocked that my Wifi adapter is not working. Luckily, I was offered a driver in Driver Manager. I installed it and everything is working like a charm. I have been using Linux Mint for some days (been observing battery consumption) it is not as efficient as Windows but not bad at all. Now I am gonna list all the programmes I am using: 1- Enpass Password Manager with Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi extensions. 2- Opera Browser 3- Firefox 4- Vivaldi 5- Softmaker Office 2018 (the best alternative for MS Office) 6- Libreoffice as it works with Mendeley (referencing tool). 7- Xtreme Download Manager 8- Koofr (currently having issue installing it correctly though followed their instructions) 9- Cryptomator I was using FlexiPDF with OCR support on Windows, but unfortunately it does not support Linux. Any alternatives? Does Foxit PDF Phantom work on Linux? Forgot to say that I was offered to upgrade to Linux Mint 19.3 and I upgraded successfully. Any suggestions? What do you think? I will keep this thread updated.
