I tested ESET and despite its high RAM usage , the responsiveness of my system was almost unaffected.

em installing vmware and i have just 4gigz of ram so wat operating system i should install on it ubunto or win 7

i suggest you WinXP, it has lot of vulnerabilities to test malwares and doesnt need much RAM and HDD space

and when i will close vmware will the ram will be free that the guest os is using

when you close the VM your real system regains the RAM used by the VM.

i like it its really fast and windows 8 boots up like a charm

Windows 8's windows defender just downloads the signatures of MSE and uses it. And it lacks some settings and options which is found in MSE. Also MSE has context menu scanning which windows defender lacks.
So I will not suggest Windows Defender as a main AV.
