Absolutely, your topic is highly relevant. As cyber threats evolve, AI's role in malware detection and prevention is increasingly crucial. Your research could provide valuable insights into AI-powered cyber deception, a rapidly developing field.

my topic is on how AI being used in modern malware detection and prevention, especially in AI powered cyber deception. How relevant is it in our current space? Do you think It's relevant enough for me to research on?
This is not the place (an online forum) to ask such questions. You will get more accurate, realistic, and much less unbiased infos and nonsense if you do your own online research about the topic.
Best thing to do is read security software publisher white papers about how they are using AI and then research cybersec industry AI trends.

You can start here (you need a real work email address):

Flip-side is the criminal use of AI:

You and tons of AV vendors, EDR, MDR and security startups are also researching the topic. And you hope to do a significant research paper ? How much time and effort and money are you willing to put up front?

I guess it is an OK topic if you are in grade 10.

Why the discouragement? If @FAYORKAY is not grade 10 it's not okay? That is a great topic for a research paper, whatever your grade/age. Many of us here will help however we can.

The kid is not using his brains asking for help on this topic. It is such a hot topic, everybody and his cousin is working on an AI 'solution' . Does he really expect people to think for him on such a subject? .The kid is on his reasearch phase to start his own company. He asks if it is "relevant to our current space"; that means he already has a target market. He already knows AI is applied in "detection and prevention" and "cyber deception" . All he wants is more information and insights to help him on his way. And darned if I will volunteer to make him rich.

Agree with n8chavez, he's not asking to write the paper he just wants help/pointers. it's easier to tell someone to do their own research than take the time to give help.

It is easier and it is better in this situtation, in my opinion.

Let me express it more clearly in a selfish way. If I had advise I would rather give it to my own son and make him rich.

And that is why there is a major problem in security and I.T in general. There are a lot of rude, obnoxious and disrespectful people who are very elitist who just say 'research yourself' or just "talk to your teacher/read your study books" but refuse to help new people in the scene learn from elders. Everyone starts somewhere and you never know that link or bit of information you post may just help the next creator or genius.

Anyway A.I. solves the rude elitist problem in the industry, now you can get knowledge without attitude.
