It seems that the developers at Infinity Ward and publisher Activision are getting ready to deliver an official reveal for this year’s Call of Duty experience on May 3, with at least one retailer preparing to offer its own customers more information about the upcoming first-person shooter at that point.

The news comes from the Twitter account of Jim Sterling, who has a solid track record when it comes to insider information, and the retailer image attached seems genuine.

Presumably, Activision is looking to sate the thirst for information of the most dedicated fans by delivering a short trailer and some pre-order information about their new Call of Duty, without getting into too many details about the story or the gameplay.

May 3 is a good date because it gives the publisher a few weeks to secure pre-orders and the attention of players before it talks more about the new shooter during the coming E3 2016 event in June, when the multiplayer side might also be playable behind closed doors for the first time.

As always, Activision is not offering any comment when it comes to rumor and speculation, which means we will find out whether the May 3 reveal information is true by simply waiting for next Tuesday to roll by.

Black Ops 3 is still set to get two DLC packs
Rumors connected to sources close to the development team are saying that the coming Call of Duty might be set in the far future. It will offer a hub linked to a space station while allowing gamers to take part in battles that include futuristic vehicles and weaponry, some of them set above the Earth or even on new planets.

Infinity Ward has been very adamant that the new title is the best they have ever created and they are also saying that they want to introduce some big changes to the traditional formula of the franchise.

Until the new Call of Duty is revealed and launched, presumably at some point during November, Treyarch and Activision are planning to introduce two new downloadable content packs for Black Ops 3, which will be introduced in early summer and probably early fall.

At the moment, the plan is to deliver another eight maps and to offer the final two episodes associated with the cooperative zombie mode.

Eclipse is currently in the hands of gamers who own Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on the PlayStation 4 and will arrive in early May for those playing on the PC and the Xbox One.

The next Call of Duty will apparently get unveiled by next Tuesday. Getting listed in retailers at any rate. pic.twitter.com/eYnVX5spdh — Jim Sterling (@JimSterling) April 26, 2016

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Cover Revealed, Modern Warfare Included - Rumor
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Cover Revealed, Modern Warfare Included - Rumor

The leaked information about the coming new installment in the Call of Duty series is increasing by the day and it seems that a look at the cover has not been shared with the public ahead of the official announcement of Infinite Warfare, showing that a Legacy Edition of the title will be offered and will allow gamers to get remastered versions of Modern Warfare installments in the franchise.

The information comes from the Reddit associated with the series and seems to also show that the first-person shooter is set to be launched on November 4 of this year.

As always, the teams at developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision have not reacted to the new leak and will probably continue to be quiet about the video game until May 3 when a source claims that the new Call of Duty will be officially shown to the public for the first time.

The November 4 date for the launch of Infinite Warfare is a little suspicious, given that if falls on a Friday, but the publisher in charge of the series has the power to launch a title globally on whatever day it wants.

The fact that the new title might deliver remastered versions of the first or both the Modern Warfare has been well received by the player community, with some commenting that they will spend most of their time with the older title rather than the new one.

The new Call of Duty might make the move to space
The only rumor about the setting and the gameplay of the coming Infinity Ward created video game states that space battles will be a central part of the experience and that it will take place in the far future, giving the studio access to a wide array of unique weapons and items.

Infinite Warfare, if this is the official name, will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC.

A May 3 official reveal might give Activision a month to offer small details about the new Call of Duty before it makes the multiplayer playable during the coming E3 2016 event in June.

Before the launch of the coming game, the company and Treyarch are also set to deliver two new downloadable content packs for the already available Black Ops 3 while the new Eclipse also has to arrive on the PC and the Xbox One.
