Security News New "Can you hear me now" Phone scam leads to ID Theft

Within the past week, there have been multiple warnings that a new method of phishing via a simple answer on the telephone "Yes" - Robocalls

If someone calls and asks "Can you hear me now", hang up the phone. Criminals are using technology to record your voice, including you saying the word yes, in order to authorize purchases, defend chargebacks and imitate you leading to Identity theft.

Hang up immediately. Don't say yes, sure or anything affirmative. Don't press any buttons. Hang up immediately.


This is just a whole new level of desperate attempts to steal identity.
