New Kernel Vulnerabilities Affect Ubuntu 11.10

Ahhh is good to see that Linux users have system vulnerabilities , however unlike with Windows users this are more like theoretical vulnerabilities and not something that cybercriminals are actually exploiting ;P .. Nevertheless update your system if you are using Unbutu...

The nice thing about Linux vulnerabilities is

1) As soon as they're found they're patched - and properly.
2) Even kernel vulnerabilities can be mitigated if you take the time to set up AppArmor/ SELinux rulesets.
3) They get found allllllllll the time because of how popular Linux is. The Linux kernel is the most popular kernel in the world, plenty of eyes on it.

Thank you for the update, WALT (I'm too lazy to write your name, this is officailly what I'm calling you lol) I'm on 12.04 and have updates checked for often so I think I'm safe.

Important to note that many of these vulnerabilities require either access to the network that the computer is on or physical access to the computer. I see only one or two that look like they would be ready for remote code execution, a few others for DOS, and a few others for local attacks.

Its only normal to have vulnerabilities for Linux but from its popularity they prefer Windows to find lots of holes, caused in Linux majority were advance users so holes is just part of the analysis.
