As all we can tell few Linux Malware were in the wild list and may fail to widespread it. And its like Windows and Mac OS were primarily focused by the malware authors since most of the people used the OS.

Now, Mac malware is starting to spread. I hope Linux remain untouched.

This malware is actually ported from Linux to run on Mac OS:

ESET’s research team compared this to samples in our malware collection and discovered that this code is derived from something we’ve seen before. It is actually an OS X port of the Linux family of backdoors that we have been detecting since 2002 as Linux/Tsunami.

So Linux, contrary to what people believe, isn't untouched.

my opinion:
nothing is impossible.
someday, linux will be affected by viruses.
first, MAC OSX can not get the virus, but now? It can be exposed to viruses. but not as badly Windows viruses. but it will spread more vicious (year to year)
Linux also, the first might be like MAC OSX, viruses came from fake antivirus (MAC defender)
