A cute piece of ATM malware is being currently "beta tested" probably for release in time for the Holiday Shopping season. This one is a bit different from previous ATM malware as it targets a specific user of the machine.
Once the malware is installed the Blackhats wait for a victim. The victim inserts his/her ATM card and it gets stuck. After waiting a bit in frustration the vic walks away (and as the Card contact number is on the card, which is stuck, no call to the Bank alerting it to the issue will be made).
So is this a malfunctioning ATM machine? Maybe not. Especially if the card is released to the waiting hand of the Blackhat once the person walks away. The console view of the malware can be seen here:
This malware can also read card details and Chip info.
Again, this hasn't been released yet, but any MT members that use ATM's should write down the contact number of their bank for use in case a card just happens to get stuck in the next few months.
