As promised on September 30, when Microsoft presented Windows 10 Technical Preview for the very first time, the company is now working on two different fronts, trying not only to implement more new features based on user feedback, but also to refine the existing ones to work more smoothly on all devices.
Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9860 was the first to come with a notification center, so it's only natural to expect this particular feature to improve in the next update.
That's exactly what's going to happen, according to WinBeta, as Microsoft is now working not only to add new features to the notification center, but also to change its default position on the taskbar.
Only little is known so far, but it appears that some of these improvements might already be there, so it's pretty clear that we're not very far from the debut of a new OS update.
New position for the notification center
One of the most noticeable changes in the upcoming Windows 10 Technical Preview build will be the new position of the notification center.
At this point, its icon is placed at the left of all System Tray icon, but in the upcoming update the notification center will be moved at the right, just near the clock.
While it's difficult to find a reason behind this change, Microsoft most likely believes that it's more natural to have a notification center next to the clock, but it obviously remains to be seen if users like the new position more.
At the same time, Microsoft is also planning to introduce quick actions for the notification center, but it's not yet clear if these improvements will be included in the upcoming build or not.
Smoother windows animations
Another change that was implemented in Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9860 and which could be revised in the next update is the little effect that can be spotted when opening and closing apps.
All windows now have a new effect when performing these actions, and while they do look good and make the operating system feel a bit more modern, it appears that there's still room for improvement in this regard.
As a result, the upcoming Windows 10 Technical Preview update will also make windows animations smoother, while also bringing some new options aimed at users who might want to disable them completely.
At this point, all these details are still in the rumor stage, so don't take anything for granted until we see the next Windows 10 build going live.
