MD- Probably no need to use a boot disk for that ransomware issue. Almost always Safe Mode with command prompt will work. Just type Explorer at the prompt (as I'm sure you know) and you have your Desktop.

Yes, but from my experience bootable cd's do the best job removing any residual malware that is still able to function in safe mode (I believe I tried accessing Safe Mode in either this or another variant of this ransomeware in another video not sure which one). Sure there is some time involved to burn cd's but it is a drop in the bucket compared to leaving malware traces on a computer.
