Hum... But... you know... isn't it illegal, by U.S. law?

Yup, its illegal. One should use their own credit card. You aren't going to pay anything anyway. I just wanted people to know that they need a credit card to get the license. Wasn't expecting anyone to come up with this solution. Anyways I'm already a NIS subscriber, so used my own card.

Using a fake credit card is illegal. I'd advise anyone to use their own card... Hey btw, I don't mean any offense to you :)

And if you dont like this product or for any reason dont want to use it in future goto your norton account and cancel auto renewal option. So after completion of 1 year it will cancel automaticly.

Using a fake credit card number is illegal and does constitute fraud. This information should not be posted here on the forums.
If you use a fake number and it passes it is obviously someones number or you would get an invalid credit card number error.
If it is not someones valid credit card number it still can be considered credit card fraud.Testing card numbers or not.
Even using a fake name, address, email, and credit card number you are still installing it on your phone. Not hard to trace that.
If this is worth getting to you then I would suggest using your own information and then cancelling the "auto renewal" option in your Norton account. If you are underage ask your parents/legal guardian.
This is much different than using a proxy or disposable email to get a promo.Today with all the news about peoples information and credit card details being compromised I wouldn't want test the credit card fraud laws for 1 year of free norton mobile security.

I edited out the credit card information from post and replies with quoted text.Members are not supposed to post their emails, passwords or account information on the forum boards. This includes Credit Card numbers whether real or fake.

Those fake numbers are legit , they are destined to test credit card fields on websites.

The real question is "can you use them to real websites to avoid disclose yours"
Same for the Paypal testing Credit Card numbers. However I don't think they are meant to be used in a promotional giveaway where your personal information is required for auto renewal as a requirement of the promotion. The testing Credit Card numbers don't include the CVV Code or Exp. date.It works with a testing number and a made up CVV & Exp. date but then I imagine that would be considered fraudulent.

Norton Terms Of Sale said:
2. Price and Payment Terms.
b.All Product must only be obtained in the first instance from Symantec (or Symantec's authorized partners, as applicable). If, in Symantec's reasonable judgment, the original acquisition of a Product from Symantec (or Symantec's authorized partners, as applicable) occurred using a fraudulently obtained credit card or any other unauthorized means, Symantec has no obligations to provide customer services or any support to You for the Product in question or to allow the subscription to continue.

I am assuming posting an actual credit card number whether real, fake or a testing one is against forum policy. In the end it is a good giveaway and auto renewal can be easily cancelled during the registration process.

If you don't have a Credit Card then get one from https://bancore.com/ Registration is free. All you need is a phone number. Its a legitimate site. And the credit card no they give you can actually be use for real purposes.

@Myna is right. If you don't have credit card/debit card then "bancore" option is perfect for you.
