Acting New York State Supreme Court Justice Lori Sattler has lost over one million dollars after falling victim of an email scam, NY Daily News reports. The scam took place after the Justice received an email from someone who the judge believed was her lawyer. The crook, posing as Justice Sattler's lawyer, asked her to send $1,057,500 to a bank account.

Southern Oregon University loses $1.9 million in BEC scam
This is not the only high-profile email scam that came to light last week. The Mail Tribune reported that Southern Oregon University lost over $1.9 million in a similar incident.
The University thought it was paying a contractor for work on a new student recreation center, but ended up sending the money to unknown crooks posing as representatives of Andersen Construction.
