The Final version of the Outpost Suite and firewall has been released.

Changes in 8.0 (4164.652.1856):
The following improvements have been made:

New, more user-friendly interface

Full compatibility with Windows 8

Improved 64-bit OS protection

Smaller installation package

Improved compatibility with Microsoft Action Center

Updated network activity presets for system processes.

The following issues have been fixed:

The vulnerability after reverting to non-GUI operation mode (Computer Lock)

The firewall crashing under Windows 8

Several service and GUI crashes

ICMP traffic on Windows 8 is now filtered correctly

Issues with sending excess information to ImproveNet

GUI freeze when the Event Viewer is in use

Certain graphical element positioning errors

looks like they are not much interested about their Free software ....

Outpost has never kept their free version updated that I know about. They always run several versions behind on components updates.

That is one good advantage of using ZoneAlarm they keep the free versions current with their paid products.

Agnitum are not going to produce a free product which will compete with their paid product ,it simply is not a good marketing strategy.The free version is a taster for users to incite them to buy.Comodo and others who produce free software have other revenue from other services,whereas agnitum do not.

Free version at all will never be as completely free when a pro or internet security suite existed.
