Totally agree here Jack, OSS is a decent suite apart from the av engine, but you need to be aware all the time.
As seen in reviews i feel it is 'far too talkative' for the average punter.
Shame as really could be a decent product again.
There HIPS is one of the main backbone feature why OSSP made it better however its really design for advance users, popups were display as limited information and needs to be a user friendly.
Aren't you able to simply turn down/change a setting or two so it's not so talkative.
I'm aware at first installation, use Learning Mode, It will be loud at first but adapt to your activity's and become less of a disturbance.
