Hello everyone my name is Gace and I'm new to this site and I was wondering how much would you charge people to do PC Cleaning on the machines? 20? 80? whats your rates

Hello and welcome to MalwareTips. :D

Depends on how bad the malware is that you have to clean. I would charge about $75 (Australian Dollars) an hour but I'm not sure what others would charge.

Hi and welcome to the MT Community Gace! :)

Are you asking this question in order to know what to charge others yourself once you have an educated guess? Or are you asking if this place charges, it's free info/help for all here if that is what you are asking.

Once again, welcome :D

So you are the one that is doing the cleaning or you are wanting other people to do it, and if you are looking for some help post here if you need help and we will help you for free. :)

The second question is correct, I'm trying to make some extra money with things being so slow in the US.

Well like I said in my first post I would go with $75 (Australian dollars) but not sure what the others would do.

Why not ring around local providers in your area to get a feel for the local price set? Do you feel you are qualified enough to offer such services (any certs?) as this is a tough market to be in and you need to know what sets you apart from the rest as well as determine your own self worth bases on your experience/knowledge etc...

oO(still confused as to this question been in the suggestions/feedback of the site)Oo LOL

Sorry to say this, but if you do not have a general idea of what to use then this leads me to the question, once again are you qualified to do such things.

Remember, it does take time to learn such things especially when dealing with a customers data and hardware. You muck it up and then you are liable for the cost.

Captain has a point. If you want to learn how to do these things stick around the forum and read about anything and everything to do with computers and security.

Hello and welcome to our site.;)

It is very hard to give you a flat rate on how much to charge.
It depends on several factors:

1. You must be qualified to know not only how to clean malware, but also how to backup and restore systems, save user files in case of a total disaster, test and replace defected hardware components, clean inside of the pc case, check fans and cooling system, etc. Sometimes severe malware infections can cause hardware components to fail and they must be replaced. You are responsible for any damages to a customer's system can likely be took to court if you mess something up. It is good to have a written contract before working on systems to protect your liability.

2. Must have all the equipment available both software and hardware or be able to order it from a distributor quickly.

3. Amount charged for services depends upon the competition in your area. Some places the prices are much higher while others may have special set rate prices.
Some places charge by the job at hand while other charge by the hour. Cost of replacements for hardware components is based on the price of the components and is added extra charge.

It is a lot of work which usually requires some kind of computer and business degree 4 years recommended.

Thanks.:D
