PC Defender

Hi Guys,

Did any one got the sample for PC Defender infection? This one is Corrupting all the .jpg files on the computer. When we are trying to open the image files we are getting a error this files is not in a supportable format... Today I got 3 cases in all of them I was facing the same issue....

I try the Tools in http://malwaretips.com/Thread-files-have-been-encypted-and-renamd-file-jpg-police

Tool : ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/tools/te94decrypt.exe


But got a error Invalid Key...

Any update for this problem will be helpful...

Kuttus probably thinks about ransomware not FakeAV

I got customers yesterday with this infection... I am able to remove this infection from there computer.... But the problem is with the images (.jpg) files on the computer... All of them where corrupted....

Look on XueTr / Other / File Association .. look here maybe.
- or PowerTool / Application / File Association.
And Recuva image recovery software is very good!

I don't think it is a File Association issue. because I download another JPG file into the compute from the internet and that one working fine... The image files on the computer at the time of infection only got corrupted...
