VPN provider Perfect Privacy has had two of its servers seized by Dutch police, as part of an active investigation. Police bypassed the VPN service and went directly to the company's hosting provider, I3D, who complied with a subpoena requesting the hardware. At the time of writing, it remains unclear why the servers in question were taken.

VPN services are a great tool for people who want to increase their privacy and security online.

While most people use them for legitimate purposes, VPNs are also frequently linked to nefarious activity, as criminals prefer to stay anonymous online too.

Im a Perfect-Privacy user and i am active on there Forum. They dont know why the Servers got to the Police and maybe the never will know. But it is nothing compromissed from the users. They dont use normal Servers, they use ramdisks and have absolutly no loggs at all+ the police wanted that the servers got shut down and that is a big + so its sure that nothing is there on the ram disks. they just said it must be something more that a simple ddos attack or spam/phishing attack from the two servers, otherwite they would never be shut down and the police would never want them.it is by far the best vpn provider u can get! not cheat at all but sometimes quality isnt cheap. im realy happy with the perfect-privacy service and with there transparency. big thumps up for this and for the no logging policey + almost the only provider who use ramdisks! :)

I think CyberGhost hosts their own servers so their way any police has to go through them, definitely a big help to privacy

CyberGhost has start logging. i would not use it anymore. and if a vpn provider does not log at all than there is no change if they have own servers or not. anyone who want the servers will find nothing anyway.

All VPNs definitely keep some sort of logs whether they tell you or not, but how freely they provide the information to law enforcement is a different thing. Eg HideMyAss provided information to the FBI to catch a hacker because they are based in England and their laws are stricter with regards to law enforcement over privacy. Where as CyberGhost are based in Romania, which have better privacy laws compared to the US.

My wild guess that the dutch police has seized two of their servers is becuase of downloading / distributing child porn! is very sad but true , that here in the netherlands huge pedofile networks are busted on a regular basis. I cannot imagine another valid reason for them to do so. I do not think that BREIN ( the dutch anti piracy organisation ) is behind this.
