I would like to suggest for a good free and reliable backup solution either Macrium Reflect or Aomei Backupper. Both have a fast, free and reliable version for you to use.

You can also add Hard Configurator to care about things that Eset cant protect (without hips).
P.s: it's easy to use, without bug and problem because using the inbuilt windows features.

Backing up to an Ext USB is cumbersome and neccesary. Download the (free) tools, Rollback Rx and Macrium Reflect.
