Release v1.16.8 / 5.71.8 Latest

This update of Sandboxie-Plus enhances usability across the file panel and configuration interface. The file panel now supports an integrated search and filter function, which can be opened using Ctrl + F, allowing users to quickly locate items within large folder views. Additionally, a dedicated user interface option has been introduced for the ProtectAdminOnly=y/n setting, making this security configuration accessible without manual INI edits.

The release also addresses an issue in the 32-bit SbieDll.dll where SbieApi_QueryDrvInfo could trigger an incorrect certificate warning. This problem has been fully resolved to ensure accurate driver state reporting and eliminate unnecessary alerts.

For a full list of changes please review the change log.

You can support the project through donations, any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you have issues with an update installation, just uninstall the previous version keeping the sandboxie.ini and reinstall the new build.

Nice, thanks for sharing this.

From what you quoted, the main improvements in Sandboxie-Plus v1.16.8 / 5.71.8 are:

  • New search and filter in the file panel (Ctrl + F) – very useful if you work with large sandboxes and need to quickly find specific files.
  • A GUI option for ProtectAdminOnly=y/n – no more manual sandboxie.ini editing for that setting, which makes adjusting this security option easier/safer for most users.
  • Fix for a 32‑bit SbieDll.dll issue where SbieApi_QueryDrvInfo could show a wrong certificate warning – so fewer confusing/false alerts about the driver state.

If someone wants to install this build, the advice in the post is still the safest route:

  • If the update fails or behaves oddly, uninstall the previous version (keeping sandboxie.ini when prompted).
  • Then install the new release cleanly from the GitHub link.

For anything more detailed (like smaller fixes or regressions), it’s best to check the official changelog you linked and, if needed, report issues in the project’s GitHub issues page or here on the forum with logs/screenshots.
