Hello all!

I have a lot of opinions regarding CIS development that I have posted in some detail over at the official Comodo Forums.

I would really appreciate it if any of you that are avid users of CIS could read over my suggestions and if you like them or have any ideas on how to better implement my ideas, comment, and show some support in my thread.

CIS is hands down my favorite security software, and the fact that it is free is insane to me. I always end up going back to it after testing everything else out there.

However, there are some small tweaks that I think would really be nice. Most of them are GUI features that in my opinion iron out what is already there.

Back when Umesh was the lead developer of CIS, he really seemed to absorb feedback and feature requests and go hard on them. I haven't been following the development that actively since he left Comodo, but would like to see if we can get things moving a bit :D

Thanks!

It's been a bit hit and miss with regards to implementation of wish list items. They are working on another beta apparently but more improvements rather than new features. We'll just have to wait and see. Comodo development only recently started to pick up again.

1-simplify the antivirus.
2-Start from scratch focused on the cloud (similar to comodo cloud).
3-Kill any project that does not work eg: browser, advertising blocking etc. (If they want an ad blocker they could incorporate it into the AV in the browser protection)
4-Seek to sell signatures of documents or emails to people with the pro version and technical support. so they forget the vpn or another is also striking for users.
5-improve their AI to separate malware and goodware .. personally I think they need a multi engine to help the training.

Comodo's biggest problem is its incredibly low detection rate. It depends too much on sandboxing and HIPS, which is not friendly for newbies.

You should think of comodo as taking a different approach from other vendors. In other words, many companies hunt using nets, but comodo hunts using fences and pitfalls. I think the reason for the difficulty is the difference between how to throw the net and how to use the pitfalls.

If you like security software, please try it once. It's fun software. Good or bad is another story.:)
