Hi, I want to test windows 8.1 on my old computer.I have successfully installed and run windows 8 consumer preview on it but windows 8 final version was not installed on this machine as its processor does not support PAE, NX, and SSE2 .

Does 8.1 preview require PAE or its like 8 preview which could be install on PAE non supported browser.

I cannot find any specific answer on Microsoft site.

Thanks

System Requirements:

More info here:

Use the Upgrade Assistant:

I want to know about 8.1 preview

The system requirements will be the same because 8.1 is just a service pack not a new version of Windows. That applies to All Windows OS, service packs will not have different system requirements.

Thanks. :D

Still going to be the same, unless specified. So if the Upgrade Advisor suggests you can run Windows 8. Then 8.1 should have zero problems.

Also you won't know unless you try.
