I noticed my "rootkit" scanner is disabled. Should this be the way it is or should I enable it. ditto for self protection!

You would be better off using Windows 8 built in security.I would update to 8.1 if you have not done so already.Sandboxie is also a good program to use.No infections is good,I personally would use Avast over McAfee.Thanks for sharing your config :)
