Multiboot CD /DVD and USB Builder
SARDU is a free* software that can build one multiboot support CD, DVD or a USB device (USB stick/pendrive and all removable are supported).
The name is the short of Shardana Antivirus Rescue Disk Utility
The disk or USB device may include comprehensive collections of "antivirus rescue cd", collections of utilities, popular distributions of Linux Live, the best known Windows PE , recovery disks and Install of Windows XP , Windows Vista and Windows Seven .
All do you need for troubleshooting.
SARDU does include a few utilities, but is primarily a tool for managing the software (ISO image files) that you download from other companies and developers.
SARDU has multilanguage support. At startup it checks to see if a system language exists, then sets the software language accordingly. If a system language does not exist, the language is set to English. (The author is willing to add all possible translations).
The user can change the language at any time using the language menu.
*personal and non commercial use, read the license.
Default SARDU:
All media of SARDU, have the submenu 'Menu Tools'. In this section we have these freeware:
* Boot Manager as SuperGrubDisk 1 & 2 and PLoP.
* Memtest Software for test the RAM memory for errors and failures detection.
* Hardware Detection Tool (HDT) for display low level information for any x86 compatible system.
* Testdisk free data recovery software designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table).
* PhotoRec file data recovery software designed to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from hard disks, CD-ROMs, and lost pictures from digital camera memory. PhotoRec ignores the file system and goes after the underlying data, so it will still work even if your media's file system has been severely damaged or reformatted
* LiloPwd for dump LILO map file where are saved passwords in clear text.
Other Software manageable by SARDU:
The user must download all the ISO image who wants to integrate in the support.
Downloaded the ISO images, have to be placed inside the "ISO" folder. Alternatively user can select a different path by selecting the "ISO icon" at the top of the GUI.
SARDU's menu is divided into four categories:
* Antivirus
* Utility
* Linux
* Windows
All software have their buttons and checkboxes. SARDU manages "only" these software.
If a checkbox is disabled (grey) the ISO of that software was not found. Pressing the button with an application name causes SARDU to download the bootable ISO from the manufacturer's website. Downloaded make it ready for use (checkbox checked). Downloads can be done manually by disabling the function ' File -- Enable direct download'. User can update the status of the ISO folder from File -- Refresh ISO/IMA menu (N.B.: cannot change the default names of individual programs because they won't be recognized by the software.) If a checkbox is unchecked (white) the single ISO is disabled and not-active.
Multiple Antivirus Rescue Disk, Collections of Utilities,Linux Live, Windows installer ...:
SARDU build a multi boot menu with multiple "Antivirus Rescue Disk", collections of utility,Linux Live, Windows installer, PE and recovery Disk , all in a single medium.
You can have more than 60 CDs in a single USB stick. Everything you need to remove viruses, fix problems, test hardware, install the Operative System for a PC, notebook, netbook ... on hand even without DVD reader.
Until now, only the geeks, after hours and hours of work, has built a similar tool. Now, with SARDU multi boot creator, this is available for all, without knowledges, after a few of click. Now, to have all in a single USB Stick , is not a dream!
SARDU is very easy to use:
With a few clicks the media is ready. If you want to make a multiboot USB you have to press the 'Search USB' button. The software will then look for all devices with FAT32. Only FAT 32 is supported. The device can be chosen from the combo box. By default the combo boxes of devices are disabled, and is activated only when one (or more) devices with FAT32 are detected. In the tab `Report` you can find details about the selected USB: Type (Removable or Hard Disk), Serial, Label, Space used and free.
Pressing the button with the 'USB icon' causes SARDU to extract the needed files from one ISO at a time. After a careful examination it builds the menu and makes a multiboot USB device.
If you want to make a multibootable CD or DVD you have to press the button with `disk`. SARDU then extracts the needed files one ISO at a time and, after a careful examination, builds the menu and makes a multibootable ISO. The ISO must then be burned to disk using your own burning software or the burn option of SARDU.
For the multiboot utility, SARDU (by default) uses Syslinux/Isolinux. If necessary, SARDU can instead use Grub4DOS and BCDW. The determination of which to use is done automatically, with no user input necessary.
Multi Boot Creator
Many users requested that I add the ability to include stand-alone software. Inside the ISO folder I have included an `extra` folder where additional files can be put. You can enable this folder if it does not exist by pressing File -- Enable Extra.
User can load ISO not directly supported: Menu --> Add Extra ISO (Test) or Menu --> Add Extra ISO from memory (Test).
User can load own customized folder and/or menu iso/syslinux and GRUB4Dos.
This option is for advanced users, and I don't provide customer support related to its use.
