Tomorrow, Microsoft will make available for download a new set of updates to improve the security of its products. According to the Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification for June 2012 that came out last week, tomorrow’s update will include seven bulletins. Three of these are rated Critical, while the other four are rendered Important. Four of these seven updates will require the reboot of the targeted machines.
Unfortunately, Microsoft did not offer specific info on the security holes that these bulletins are meant to patch, though it plans on making all the necessary details on them available when the updates go live.
However, the company did inform on the products that they would affect, and on what could happen if the breaches were successfully exploited. According to Microsoft, four of these bulletins patch vulnerabilities that could result in Remote Code Execution, while the other three could allow for Elevation of Privilege.
Among the affected products, the Redmond-based software giant lists Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, and Microsoft Dynamics AX. Tomorrow, Microsoft will release the Security Bulletin numbers, along with detailed information on the issues that they are meant to fix.
