SoftPerfect File Access Monitor is a multipurpose tool that monitors access to your files and provides detailed history of who read, wrote and manipulated them.

SoftPerfect File Access Monitor can be used on a file server to track network users activity, as well as on a local computer where it will track local users file access. It is similar in nature to Windows auditing features yet is much easier to use and provides flexible reporting capabilities and notifications.

Is it showing or log like "what program last access some selected file ?" ?
example File Name : OpenLog.txt last open with Program Name : Notepad .

I believe that the added value of this tool is the fact that finally I can see what beats in my hard disk.
Often I see turn-on the HDD activity led for a long time and finally now I have some specific indication!

Damn, just noticed their Network Scanner is no longer free At least this program is, although, it's no longer being developed which is a shame.
