Sony Interactive Entertainment has quietly updated its PlayStation 5 packaging to remove mention of 8K support.

It’s unclear precisely when the new packaging was rolled out, but the company launched the PS5 Slim model last November with 8K still emblazoned on the product’s box.

Sony started branding TVs that support 8K and 120 fps as “PS5 ready” as early as July 2020.
“PS5 is compatible with 8K displays at launch, and after a future system software update will be able to output resolutions up to 8K when content is available, with supported software,” Sony said prior to the console’s launch in November 2020.

Knew it. I have a PS5. 8k gaming is just not feasible on 16 GB RAM.
PCs in 2020 could barely run at 4K, nevermind 8K resolution . 8K TVs aren't widely affordable either.

Never looked at the 8K sticker as a realistic claim.
