Solid state disks (SSD) are considerably faster than traditional turntables models (HDD). That's a fact. But the same cannot be said of their reliability: SSD manufacturers, in fact, provide only a small number of writings before the device is being replaced. But ... we should really look into that user?

In short: don't worry

SSD have a predetermined life cycle but it is so difficult to reach that we shouldn't concern ourselves with users: the technological advancement will bring us to replace your entire PC or, at the very least, the SSD well before the piece is really refuse.

In addition, periodically back up your data is a fundamental practice regardless of whether you're using a hard disk or an SSD. Therefore, very little matter that you use one or the other technology: sooner or later, both SSD and HDD and break up is the only practice that can keep us safe.

PS: the article was written in 2013 so now things could still be improved.

SSDs don't suffer from mechanical failures; they will just wear out over time like all current flash memory does. How much time purely depends on your use. At least with SSDs, you get advance warning and you can still read your data off of it; with HDDs, it's gone in an unpredictable instant.

Plus they are fast. I can't use a PC without an SSD; it is insufferably slow.

SSD's are pretty much the next in line for better performance; the downside which can cause data loss according to study due to unstable temperature if you will not use in a week however is very unlikely for a user who use everyday.

Hello friends I have a SSD two years ago and it works perfectly, can be that it does not last so much like a HDD but for me at the moment it is sufficient, for its best price SSD.

SSD's are a necessity for me. My Transcend SSD370 has been running for 2 years and I have another year on warranty. It's just extremely annoying when I play a game and my friend is waiting for me because I am loading from an HDD so I recommend them definitely
