SumatraPDF reader supports the following document types:

• PDF (.pdf)
• eBook formats:
  • unencrypted EPUB (.epub)
  • MOBI (.mobi and un-encrypted .azw)
  • FictionBook (.fb2, .fb2z, .zfb2)
  • .pdb (Palm DOC format)
  • .tcr
• comic book files: .cbz, .cbr, .cbt, .cb7
• archive files (.7z, .rar, .tar, .zip) with images
• DjVu (.djv, .djvu)
• Microsoft Compiled HTML Html (.chm)
• XPS (.xps, .oxps, .xod);
• images (.jpg, .png,.gif, .webp, .tiff, tga, .j2k, .bmp, .dib)
• HEIF (if codec installed, see below)

If Ghostscript is installed, we support PostScript (.ps, .eps) and PJL (Printer Job Language) files.

HEIF support​

Since version 3.4 SumatraPDF can open HEIF images but only if Windows has a codec for the format.
You can use one of those codecs:

• Open and batch convert HEIC files on Windows : free for personal use
• Microsoft Apps : HEIF image codec from Microsoft, Windows 10 or later

You can make SumatraPDF to be default program for handling those file types.

PDF Reader Sumatra 3.4: new command palette and support for translations​

Sumatra 3.4 adds a number of new features and improvements to the PDF reader. Users find the new text translate feature under Menu > Selection. The initial version supports Google Translate and DeepL, but it is possible to add custom translation services to the application.

All it takes is to select text, and then one of the available translate options. Sumatra opens the translated text on the service's website.

Agree. However, probably the main reason due to bug fixes for the major version update has been released last week.

I tried it and liked how fast it is but for some reason it can't print any PDF I open and I need physical copies of a PDF file sometimes. I searched their forums and the web but couldn't find anything about it so I returned to Foxit.

Strange. I had a chance to check it out yesterday. I printed some pdfs from this program and everything was ok.

On the computer I tested the print option was greyed out and the keyboard shortcut didn't do anything

Design could be better, but this program speed is wonderful

An overhaul in the printing system would be welcome instead of depending on the Windows printing system. A simple print to both sides option when printing would be nice. But the program is quite fast.
