At a security event in New York, law enforcement officials discussed their main concerns and what was their biggest issue? Just a regular old email!

“The most devastating attacks by the most sophisticated attackers almost always begin with the simple act of spear-phishing” - Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson

The Fortune article goes on to discuss recent examples of phishing issues and ways to combat against these hacks with education: This Is Our Top Hacking Threat Says Homeland Security Chief

Education is one approach. Secretary Johnson says his agency sends emails to its own employees with suspicious links for goodies like “free Redskins tickets.” Those who click on the link receive instructions to show up to a spot to collect their tickets—where they instead receive a free lesson on cyber-hygiene.
Are you surprised that phishing is still one of the top hacking threats? Besides education, have you done anything else to combat hacking threats?
