Test results AV-TEST (September 2013 - June 2014)
Maybe an antivirus solution to clean completely and then to repair a Windows system using the tools offered by manufacturers as a malware infection?
Laboratory experts from AV-TEST gave the answer to this question through a very comprehensive test of endurance ten months (September 2013 - June 2014).
AV-Test lab has solved this problem in a test in which 10 major antivirus and 7 had special cleaning tools to clean infected systems not only, but also to completely repair the. Over the whole period, several malware families were tested repeatedly. Note that malware samples used were known manufacturers of all solutions tested and therefore ought to be clearly detected, however, but it was not many of them.
The following security patches have been examined in this assay:
- Three popular freeware solutions: avast! Free Antivirus 9.0, AVG AntiVirus Free 2014 Avira Free Antivirus;
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free, a solution recommended by several IT magazines;
- Microsoft Security Essentials, included in Windows;
- Five additional paid-known software solutions from Bitdefender, ESET, F-Secure, Kaspersky and Norton.
In addition, the following tools were also tested cleaning and recovery of the system;
- Avira Cleaner and Hitman Pro, recommended counseling center anti-botnet "Botfrei.de"
- Disinfect the 2013 commercial publisher Heise IT;
- F-Secure Removal Tool, Removal Tool Kaspersky, Panda and Norton Power Eraser Cleaner Cloud.
The 4 tables below show the results of four tests performed:
1)Malware not detected
2)The active component malware has been removed
3)Scrap harmless files left behind after cleaning
4)Complete removal, system clean.

Test results show that reinstalling Windows if it gets infected with malware is not the most urgent solution (as do many users), there are several solutions you can turn most trusted among this being Malwarebytes Anti Malware (perfect score of 100%), Bitdefender and Kaspersky. Best free antivirus solutions obtained scores came from AVG AntiVirus Free 2014, Avast! Free Antivirus 9.0.
