I was referred here by Puget Systems for help with a malware issue.
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/trojan-zeroaccess-removal/
I wanted to say thanks for the help.

Fixed, but I am still seeing port scanning from Ecatel LTD in the Netherlands as well as a Chinese ISP (China Unicom Heilongjiang).

Currently using Microsoft Security Essentials and a trial version of Malwarebytes Pro on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit system.
Also using a cable modem (no router).

Any advice on additional security such as ethernet router w/firewall or PC software would be appreciated.

I'd recommend using a Router (w/ Firewall) as this is can stand silently as your main defence against the harsh Internet. Does your ISP recommend one, or do you have a budget for a router?

If you're still concerned, you can post here:

Feel free to share us your Security config, so we know what to suggest. :D

And welcome, good to hear we were recommended.
