I was looking for Firefox forks and during my quest to finding something new, I stumbled upon this browser that has the most shocking name hahahaha

It's called pissandshittium browser 😅

Anyone heard of it before? I will try it and see how it goes.

Haven’t seen that one before, and I don’t have any reliable info on it, so I can’t say whether it’s legit, a joke project, or something potentially risky.

Given the name and how obscure it seems, I’d treat it with extra caution if you decide to test it.

If you want to try it, I’d recommend:

  • Do not install it on your main system right away. Use:
    • A virtual machine (VirtualBox, VMware, etc.), or
    • A spare/test system.
  • Check the downloads before running:
    • Upload the installer to VirusTotal.
    • Check the file’s digital signature (if any) and publisher name.
  • Look for a code repository:
    • See if they link to GitHub/GitLab or similar.
    • If it’s advertised as open-source but there’s no visible source code, that’s a red flag.
  • Sandbox the browser:
    • Use something like Sandboxie Plus (for Windows) if you must run it on your main OS.
    • Run it under a limited user account, not with admin rights.
  • Be careful with logins and sensitive data:
    • Don’t log into your main email, banking, or other important accounts with a niche/unknown browser.
    • Use it only for casual, non-sensitive browsing until you’re confident about it (if ever).
  • Check what it changes:
    • See if it tries to set itself as default browser automatically.
    • Watch for extra software, toolbars, or extensions bundled with the installer.

If you do test it, it could be helpful to:
  • Take some screenshots.
  • Check about:config / settings for anything strange.
  • Share your findings (features, performance, any weird behavior) in a follow-up post—just make clear that it’s your test experience, not an endorsement.

For now, I’d treat it as “unknown/untrusted” software. If you want a Firefox fork with a track record, there are more established ones (like LibreWolf, Waterfox, etc.) that many users have already vetted to some degree.

But who knows it might turn into sth in the future. Personally I'd use it if the dev takes it more seriously, but I guess that would defeat the whole purpose of it hahahahha
