Hey ya'll!
I stumbled across this site while searching for a way to get rid of a particularly irritating (for me, anyway) malware virus. From reading everyone's posts and responses, it looks like everyone is really kind to one another.

I've been toying with the idea of learning how to computer for a couple of months. I've a few friends who are wizards with their own computers, and would love to learn a bit myself. Actually, my GURPS GM writes code, and has shown me what it all looks like (I can't make heads or tails of it, yet), and I think I'm interested in that... Maybe? I've just got to figure out where to start.

I'd also like to express how awesome it is that you all help folks with their computers, out of the kindness of your hearts.

Since I loaded Win 10 myself (I'm used to having everything loaded and such when I buy my machines), I didn't put any security to work. So, yeeeeah, I'm researching (i.e. reading about everyone else's security configs.), on what I think will work best for me. Currently, I've got Windows Defender and a Firewall, as well as AdBlock (is it just me, or is AdBlock awesome?). Unfortunately, George Washington is my limitation... He doesn't seem to like my company all too well.

Thanks for the welcome and the link to the Security Configuration info. I'm off to see what I can learn!
