An important aspect of securing any system is the concept of “defense-in-depth,” or having multiple layers of security and not depending on any one approach or technology to block all attacks. Here are some links to tools and approaches that I have found useful in stopping malware from invading a PC. Your mileage may vary.

Good article by Brian Krebs

nothing new to learn there (i mean for some of us gods of security :D ) and advising combofix to be used is not the best move for an article oriented to beginners...
I know your a "God" when it comes to security matters!:):)
It was meant as a guide for novice users!:):)

PS:I agree Combofix should only be used under the supervision of a malware removal specialist as it can destroy your PC if you dont know what you are doing!!;)

Regards!!:)

Yup. Totally agree with you on that.

Do you think the list of AVs mentioned there is a little bit outdated compared to the list of what's good these days?

SAS in my opinion had lost it's glamor ages ago

Of course for enthusiast and experts are already aware for these tool, but that link is designed on how a user at any level of knowledge can handle in the case of infections.

Cycle at all user:

Panic -------> Calm Down --------> Research ------> Download some tools -------> then attempt to clean

----> If successful then relax ----> However if fail that's the time to call for help

But some users if they are infected, a full reformat is engaged without thinking thrice or more.
