Thanks for sharing! It's always good to cross-check information for accuracy. Remember, the effectiveness of antivirus software also depends on regular updates and safe browsing habits.

Symantec has an endpoint for Linux and under Broadcom (VMware etc ) they should have enough Linux endpoints for good intelligence

listed: Avast, Comodo, Clamav, Kaspersky & Sophos. Author suggests AV needed -- but then if that is the "reality" don't you need a real-time AV and Clamav is not real-time as far as I know. Kaspersky is probably "banned" in US. Can Clamav be configured to run in real-time? I have Clamav on fedora 41, but it's a scanner only (along with RKHunter). Any labs test linux real-time av for both performance impact and detection? safety-detectives says the best is Bitdefender GravityZone. security_org adds ESET to the list. tecmint adds F-Prot to the list, but the link to F-Prot does not open (for me). BD seems to be for enterprise? I guess I am happy with Clamav occasional scans... (I am not an expert)
PS ESET website says "ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS FOR LINUX DESKTOP is no longer in limited support and currently receives no support as of August 3rd. 2022" with a link to Business...
