Tube Dimmer Deletion Appears to have Failed

I followed all the instructions for removing the Tube Dimmer malware and it still sits in my startup box. I don't know what else to do. I ran the ASW and FRST and attached the logs. I ran the ADWCleaner and deleted all it picked up the first time. The second run showed no threats.

After HitMan Pro deleted a bunch of stuff I got the blue screen of death, but everything seems to have started back up ok.

I am ready for whatever you suggest needs to be done.

Thank you for your kind help and time.

Hi and welcome to the malwaretips.com forums!

I'm Kuttus and I am going to try to assist you with your problem. Please take note of the below:
  • I will start working on your malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine!
  • The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Refrain from running self fixes as this will hinder the malware removal process.
  • It may prove beneficial if you print of the following instructions or save them to notepad as I post them.
Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.

Before we start:
Please be aware that removing malware is a potentially hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.

Because of this, I advise you to backup any personal files and folders before you start.

In which browser you are facing this issue?

Download attached fixlist.txt on the same location as FRST (otherwise the fix won't work)

Open FRST, and click Fix. Attach me that report after it is finished.

I seem to be having the most problem with FireFox.

I noticed last evening and again today I am getting notices of an updater request from Creative Island Media which I followed upon yesterday to conclude it is the tube dimmer guys. I have chased down two of the notices to going to the appdata/temp folder where I deleted both of them. But a third one I cannot find. They are all setup{some code}.exe files. The parent program is 'programdata\updater\updater.exe".

Please go to Control Panel and remove the Program called Updater.

  3. Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  4. Click on Scan, then confirm each time with Ok.

HI, Sorry for being so long to get back to you. I have got a bit distracted and still am. I am trying to wrap this up if we can. I have a couple of questions for you though. I do not understand some things and other things that seem to be happening that are strange and annoying at the same time.

It seems in my email program, Thunderbird, when I click on an email it wants to go to a tab view, when I close the tab the whole thing goes to the full window view and sometime, more often than not when I delete an email it will delete the email just below it also. And it does everything in the blink of an eye.

I did run an MBAR about three weeks ago but when I tried to run it again today I cannot run it no matter what I do. I have tried the administrator and I have tried to set the folder up as an administrator and I still cannot get it run. I think I have all the logs for you here. I hope you have some ideas here for me.
I do thank you for your help.
