Twitter has announced that it has now enabled HTTPS by default for all users signed into the micro-blogging service. By using HTTPS, all user information including log-in credentials transmitted to the company's servers are sent using SSL encryption. This means that all data is transmitted in encrypted form and can no longer be read and exploited for fraudulent activities by attackers using tools such as the Firesheep extension for Firefox.

Well that's mandatory for anyone HTTPS were activated. With this feature I felt confidence that no anyone will track it.

If I was a user of Twitter, I'd be quite delighted to have this new addition. I take it the HTTPS Anywhere add-on has been updated for this.

I've manually enabled https for twitter a few months ago , however this should be really useful for a lots of celebrities who use twitter and have no idea what a public WiFi is or where the settings button on twitter is :P...
Now is Facebook turn to push this feature to all its users.

I'm actually quite happy this has happened. A bit weird that they didn't make it HTTPS when they first started the website.

Well sites are always to improve.
