In a step which will be welcomed by its security-conscious users, Twitter has announced that it is beginning to turn on HTTPS by default.

Why is this important? Just ask Ashton Kutcher...

Yes, one would think all social sites would have been on the same page with this long ago, but , at least they are now doing so.

the https connection will definitely bring a + on security but I hope that the Twitter servers will be ready for the 'extra load' that this new type of connection will put on them.
Even on the standard http connection , sometimes I've seen this message : Twitter is over capacity.Too many tweets! Please wait a moment and try again.

Just logged in into my twitter account...and the default connection is : http , guess I'm not 'some user' :666:

No.....I'm using the default settings... and in it the 'Always use HTTPS' option is disabled by default. :p
