Hot Take uBlock Origin Lite and Yandex

uBlock Origin Lite, even if set to "complete" with enabled all default filters in addition to extra filters, fails completely to block ads on Yandex mail and Yandex weather.

It's possible that Yandex has updated their ad delivery methods, making them undetectable by uBlock Origin Lite. You may want to try updating your filter lists or consider using a different ad blocker that's more effective against Yandex's ads.

It is updated to the latest version.

But it blocks ads on websites with other languages without specific filter lists!
Yes, it does because cosmetic filters are universal for all websites. BUT if website isn't using classic element ID for showing ads and are shown by some other method, rule needs to be manually tailored to the site. This is also the reason why you have large number of regional filters in uBlock Origin and AdGuard.

All of these contain rules for regional sites, because if they add all of them into single ad blocking filter, it could easily surpass a million rules. And that, not only it would significantly slow down your web browsing, but pretty much crash every single ad blocker and along web browser too. Some browsers like Safari and Chromium (now) also have limit of rules per filter (I think it's 200.000 though I'm not sure), and you couldn't use them at all.

So make sure you subscribe to regional filters depending which websites you visit. If you're visiting Russian sites, you need to be subscribed to Russian filters. If you're visiting Chinese sites, Chinese filters and so on...
Applying filter lists for Russian language worked; thank you.
Told ya! 😄

Yandex is sneaky; I can remember when was using Yandex browser, I had faced several CAPTCHA for unusual or suspicious activity; msn home page was loading, but clicking on any link brings me back to home page again.
On the other side, while currently using Edge, Yandex weather always ask for CAPTCHA, which never asked for while using Yandex browser; looks some sort of browser-website war is under the hood.
