First thing that came to mind.
Umbra Corp.
Looks interesting, but sort of more for businesses.
Good find and share.
Yea me too...
How does Umbrella
Everywhere/Mobility work?
• Unlike security products that reduce performance by backhauling traffic through
hardware appliances or slow VPNs, Umbrella actually improves performance with a
lightweight combination of DNS traffic routing and selective proxying.
• To use Umbrella Everywhere, networks need only route external queries via the
OpenDNS Global Network by pointing to our Anycast IP address.
•
For Users with Mobile Devices – Umbrella Everywhere protects users with iPhones
and iPads. In this case, a 3-click-to-install configuration file directs the iOS device to
connect to the nearest, most available data center on the OpenDNS Global Network
via a secure channel via VPN. This enables Umbrella Everywhere to enforce policy for
all Internet traffic to and from the device, including web browsing, and other non-web
apps such as file sharing (P2P/FTP) or chat (IM/VoIP).
o Admin push – Using the Umbrella Dashboard, enter a list of email addresses, which
sends the config file that users install on their devices to set up the Umbrella VPN.
o User pull – The user installs the Umbrella app from iTunes. Using the app, the user
can register, download and install the config file to set up the Umbrella VPN.
•
For Nomadic Users with Laptops – Umbrella Everywhere covers the user who leaves
the enterprise network and connects her laptop at a café hotspot or other untrusted
network. A lightweight, downloadable, 3-click-to-install agent on the user’s laptop
routes traffic via secure channel using encrypted DNS to the nearest data center on
the OpenDNS Global Network. It provides visibility and control of all Internet activity.
