But once it restarts it'll reinstate to a clean state i.e. without the test program.

You ca set to reinstate only manually i.e there is an option to set restore to manually instead of every boot.

You can also update the baseline......

You can exclude Windows & Antivirus updates.....

There are other options too........

Give it a try & checkout everything.......it will give you more clear picture............
