Hello,

I want to create a test environment to test malware tools and AV tools with malware. What is the best network setting in VirtualBox to test malware without infecting your own network ?

Set virtualbox to Nat and ad VPN (cyberghost) to your real PC.
And if you are real Paranoid you can run virtualbox im sandbox

Actually default settings of NAT is fine already because it isolates and create virtual network system that makes it a very low chance to make your host system infected at any case especially worms.

I have also red that for example the CryptoLocker virus is smart to "see" if it is running in a virtual environment. How do you test your av against the cryptolocker for example?
