Vmware Workstation Pro vs VirtualBox performance

Both application is installed on C drive. Now to save Vmware / VirtualBox host file, which drive should I use ? If I use D drive ( HDD ) I think it cause slow performance but also wonder that if I use C drive ( SSD ), performance of the host will better but if it will harm SSD performance.</p><p></p><p>Please suggest me.
