We believe privacy is a fundamental right so we’re doing things a bit differently, starting with our VPN infrastructure. Starting in March, Malwarebytes Privacy VPN will begin leveraging only self-owned servers around the world via the AzireVPN infrastructure. We acquired the privacy-forward VPN provider in November to develop more advanced VPN technologies and features alongside offering more flexibility to our customers. Our aim is to manage and control 100% of our server infrastructure, allowing us to create a more secure and private VPN experience. Each self-owned server is built with a unique new privacy feature dubbed Blind Operator Mode that completely disables both remote and local access to its servers. This creates a barrier against unauthorized modifications and traffic interception, making it virtually impossible for anyone to modify or tap the traffic on its servers and share any information about a user. You can learn more about Blind Operator Mode in this YouTube video.
Other key features:
  • 256-bit ChaCha20 encryption
  • WireGuard® VPN protocol
  • 10G servers with zero bandwidth limitations
  • Peer-to-peer traffic and the BitTorrent protocol are allowed on all our servers
  • Port forwarding is available
  • A global server network across more than 55 locations and 120 servers at launch (with more continuing to be added in the weeks ahead)
  • Diskless servers: Our RAM-only servers mean that we cannot monitor, track, or log your data in any way – even if we wanted to. No data is retained or stored physically.
  • Absolutely no logging policy: We do not collect user logs or telemetry data whatsoever
We're rolling out this upgrade to our Privacy VPN infrastructure, app by app, starting today with mobile users on Plus and Identity plans. Mac users on our bundle plans will receive the update by early April, and Windows users by the end of April. Updates to the standalone Malwarebytes Privacy VPN apps will follow.
We will continue to build out our infrastructure and you’ll see additional countries and cities come online soon. For now, we have a few new-to-the-service countries for connection (hello Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Malaga, Spain) and are always open to feedback if there is a location you’d like to see in the future.
We are more committed than ever to our pillar of privacy and providing easy-to-use solutions for our users. In a world where personal data has become a form of currency, I’m personally thrilled we can offer such a privacy-focused VPN and look forward to sharing more innovation in the space.

Interesting. Malwarebyes bought them in late 2024. AzireVPN used to be Swedish, but since Malwarebytes is from Santa Clara County, California, USA, AzireVPN will now have USA jurisdiction. That's a no-go for me. I don't care how good your VPN is (I'm looking at you PIA and Kape), and VPN with USA jurisdiction is not to be trusted.

Jurisdiction does not matter on the internet, that's the beauty of it that it's global. And would you rather come before a court in Russia, China or Nth Korea?

The main point I will make is it doesn't matter where a Vpn is located if they are set up correctly, no logs, limited payment information, high security standards you will 'probably' be fine.

If a USA/UK Vpn is co-operating with LEA you will know through the release of court records. And if you argue the point what about national security orders/directions well every country has them and no company anywhere in the world is not going to comply if the national security agency of said country sends in the lawyers.

The main problem I have with USA/UK Vpn's is that the clients are buggy, the servers are slow, security practices are questionable and they don't offer value for money.

I feel you will be just fine with Malwarebytes VPN also the new VPN is better than mullvad!

There's a lot to unpack there.

Is AzireVPN 5 euros a month, like Mullvad? No. It's 10 (month to month)
Does AzireVPN have friendly jurisdication? No. No they don't.
Does Azire offer socks5 through VPN, like Mullvad? Yes. Yes they do. (Surprisingly)
Does every AzireVPN server offer at least 10gbps, like Mullvad? No. Nine azire servers are 1gbps, 1 is 20gbps. Mullvad has every server at least 10gbps with many being 20 or 40gbps.
AzireVPN server Count - AzireVPN = 55 Mullvad= 690
DNS servers = AzireVPN=3 Mullvad= every server has its own DNS server
Does AzireVPN offer DNS filtering, like Mullvad? No. No they don't.
Does AzireVPN have an independent audit to verify its no-log claims, like Mullvad (Cure53)? Maybe. AzireVPN's last audit was 2019, six years ago.
Does AzireVPN own ALL their own servers? Yes they do. Mullvad does not; they own 163 of their 690 but not all of them.

A lot of the ISPs used are the same, especially in the US; Datapacket and Tuzlo.

Final Score - AzireVPN = 1 Mullvad = 7 Tie = 1

They are not the same.
